Saturday evenin' and a bit of cheatin'

G'mornin', y'all! Saturday wasn't the best day from a micronutrient standpoint, but the macro (protein/carb/fat) ratios weren't too bad. Considering what my Saturdays usually consist of, I've got to be happy with how it turned out.

I was not hungry for a while post-pork. I ended up forcing down large handful of raw almonds and a can of tuna for dinner around 8:30PM. I've been down the "drinking on an empty stomach" road before...not fun. Anyway, I went with gin and club soda with fresh lime juice. I had great time drinking 5 or 6.
I broke the eating window rules at 2:00AM with a couple spoonfuls of almond butter and some carrots dipped in all-natural hummus. Hummus is technically not "paleo" (chickpeas are legumes), but neither is alcohol, and I don't regret the decision to eat what was available at the time - I know I feel better today as a result. I don't consider what I eat a "diet," rather, a "way of eating." 80-90% compliance is great in my book. If I try to be 100% perfect I'll only be disappointed in myself when I fail.

Today is the Super Bowl, and as a Bills fan I wish somehow both teams would lose miserably. I'm definitely going to avoid piling on the grains but I may sample some stuff if I feel so inclined. In addition, I'll fast until something smells too good not to eat, and then I'll confess on the page. I doubt I'll make it 16 hours (that would be around 6PM), but hey, we're all human.
