Welcome back, NFL!

That's all I'll say about football. It's obvious nobody gives a shit about the article that I posted, so I'm blaming you guys for my failure to post 6 blogs. I kind of lost interest for a while there, but being that it's a new month, it's time to set some more goals.

Aside from the blogging, my goals for July were successful. I avoided pizza (and more junk than I anticipated avoiding; go me!) all last week while I was vacationing in Myrtle Beach. I also banged out 85 straight pushups this morning, fueled by the Breyer's French Vanilla I didn't plan on eating 10 servings of last night.

This month I'm planning to post almost daily, more for my own benefit of chronicling the hybrid training program I have been working on writing. While my work capacity has improved quite a bit over the last several weeks I have noticed my strength slipping. I don't think there's anything wrong with being a jack of all trades, but I am realizing don't want to be a master of none. Pound-for-pound strength (especially leg strength) has always been my strongest aspect of fitness, so the hope for my new program is to regain that without sacrificing work capacity. With that said, my goals for the month are as follows:

- Avoid ice cream (I found that pizza was not super difficult to avoid, since it was just one item as opposed to an entire food group. Ice cream has been my biggest vice lately and I'd like to know I can survive without it.)
- Set a PR in one or more of the major lifts (Dead: 495, Squat: 485, Bench: weak sauce 255)
- Acquire some more training equipment. I'm looking specifically for a tractor tire - please let me know if you know where to get one.
- Stretch more!
- Run hills or ruck hike on at least two Saturdays - I've got a while but I need to start working toward the Tough Mudder as well.

That's all for today. Look forward to hearing about today's workout, tomorrow!

  1. FOOTBALL IS BACK! and with this being said, it deserves a hell of a lot more notice than one line!

I tried posting before but it didn't work, hopefully this time is different.

So my brother Erik is working Bills camp. He is with the players from morning until night, everyday. He eats every meal with them, and interacts with there life styles all day. I asked him what they have in the cafeteria... chicken, steak, eggs, brown rice, oatmeal, yogurt, veggies???

Way off... he said they have everything you can imagine, and they eat everything you can image. They have all your meats and healthy stuff of course, but also chinese, tacos, and pastas, deserts.

I was shocked to hear this but was wondering if you think that they consume what they want because of how much and how hard they work?

Also, in honor of the great grid iron being back in our lives, I think you should search out your favorite NFLer's workout or exercises online that they do, and post them on the blog for us to do throughout the week. Just one exercise a day to get us back in the mood of being monsters that we can add to our regimen.

Let me know what ya think.

    GO EAGLES!
